Those people are babies who cannot handle confrontation / debate.
The same types who flock to church on Sunday to isolate themselves from anyone who doesn't think identically to them. The weak-minded puerile simpletons who operate in this fashion are not ones with whom I'd wish to align myself.
Is it reasonable? Debatable, to conserve the sanity and peace of mind perhaps. Otherwise, not really.
Is it moral? This is a question of how one ought to be or not to be. Depending on what type of metaethical framework one aligns oneself with it could be considered moral or immoral. As a consequentialist, it seems to me to be counter-productive and bordering on bigoted.
