How will Nintendo do a 'GPS' Pokemon for Switch?

I assumed 'Go' would just be a mode for Switch, not the main game, but would allow people to battle each other in the park or at McDonalds. This would need GPS though or only playable at wifi locations.

Instead of brining the console always around, you could just use the phone for searching pokemon/items outside or for trading, than you could upload the content into the game console. It would make more sense, imo.

I definitely think they'll have something like this if they don't have a mobile data solution.

Maybe in game microtransactions could pay for data? Or maybe it's a sneaky way for Nintendo to kill the samrtphone battery so people are left with only a Switch to play on (well played, Nintendo).
