I think you're confusing the Wii with some other console. The Wii has quite a lot of blockbusters.

No announced titles that will match the sucess of SSBB,MK,and Wiifit.


I dunno if the PS3 and 360 have 3 titles combined that can match the impact of those games, but lets be clear.

Are we talking about hardware sales? If so, we all know who is whimpering out this year, I believe.

If we're talking about software sales, then I'd bet over Xmas, Wii-Fit outsells MGS4 and GTAIV combined in November and December.

If we're talking about 3rd party sales, we are getting CoD5 and Guitar Hero IV around Christmas. Fatal Frame4, Tales of Symphonia 2, and Fragile sometime before then. It'll be interesting to see Wii multiplat software sales during christmas vs the PS3, ;D.

If you're strictly referring to the sales and/or quality of Nintendo software development output for the end of the year....well I bet you hope they go out with a whimper. The reality is we'll probably see a followup to the excellent Pikmin 2, a new Fire Emblem for DS, an Icarus 2nd party game, Animal Crossing and Kirby are huge possibilities, a new Nintendo adult IP in Disaster: Day of Crysis, and mebbeh, just mebbeh, an announcment for a followup to Twilight Princess.

 

...but according to you, Nintendo is going out with a whimper in the biggest year of its financial life when it is literally dominating the gaming world, and has consistantly claimed that it has a surprise E3 announcment for the Wii.

 

Just to clarify though, what games do the PS3 and 360 have coming out around christmas that are as big as Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, and Wii Fit? List em for me.


I never mentioned the 360 or PS3 in my post,so i dont know where the comparison came from.What i did say;was that by Nintendo's standards,that they will go out with a wimper.The impact that MK,SSBB,and WiiFit had on the Wii will not be matched by those supposed titles you mentioned.


I know what you're saying, but still, to suggest that the year will end in a wimper is overstating it a little. Xmas 2008 will be very successful for Ninty, and there will be some big titles to round off the year, even if they don't quite compare to MK, Brawl and Wii Fit.
