That´s not a great strategy for any of the big publishers I can rememeber we called the PS4 the remasterstation 4 or replaystation 4. Even though most remasters where great games to begin with like TLOU, GOW 3 and the Uncharted games. If there are only few new games which are only for the Switch I don´t see it getting of very fast. One of the main problems with the Wii U was the lack of new games due to a lack of third party support, the Switch shouldn´t make that same mistake by focussing first on remastering games before a new 3d mario is launched. Nintendo shouldn´t advertise The Switch by using ports from the Wii U in the reveal trailer of the console. As for now except for a hint of a new 3d mario I don´t see any reason to upgrade to a Switch if you already have a PS4 or/and a Wii U.

Who said anuthing about only few new games on Switch!? Like I wrote, I dont think they release all remasters on launch, most likely they will use them to fill potential schedule holes. From games perspective of Course you don't see any reason to upgrade on Switch because we still dont know almost anything about Switch games, regardless some Wii U ports of course there will be lotsa a new games. Nintendo said that first Switch trailer wasn't about games at all, it was just about Switch concept, and that they will talk about games at Switch conference in January, they want huge and proper reveal for new games, not few seconds offscreen play in commercial where focus was concept.

One of main problem for Wii U was not lack of new games, it was lack of any game releases, we had months without any single game, and Wii U remasters will definitely also help that something similar won't happen again.

Also you forgetting that instal base of Wii U was only 14m, so there are plenty people who didnt had WiI U and that will buy Switch to play Wii U great reamasters also. I see quite often some people saying that they didn't buy Wii U and planning to buy Switch and they hope some (or all) of Wii U games will be remastered to Switch.  Talking about PS4 and PS3 remasters, you actually have lotsa people who didn't had PS3 but actually partily buyed PS4 because The Last Of Us and Uncharted games remasteres, sales of those games are great on PS4.
