I think Splatoon will get a full on sequel quite soon (year 2) but I agree that Smash and Mario Kart upgrades push the need for a brand new Mario Kart and Smash into the distant future, arguably beyond the Switches life. For that reason I'm hoping alongside the new content at launch we get engine/graphical improvements and a year of free DLC.
Regarding Diddy Kong 2, I sure hope so! Hopefully this also free's up space for both the Smash/Kart teams to work new IPs for the Switch. just as long as Nintendo provides enough new content for Wii U owners in upgrades I think this scenario is a win/win for all.
