It's not that no one wants this. everyone said the same thing about sticker star and yet it's sold over 1 million.
Many nintendo games were controversial on the internet but sold a ton. remember when people thought mk8 would be the worst selling mario kart and only get 5 million max? it's currently at 8 million.
I think colour splash and the other underperforming Wii U games aren't failing because lack of quality. Fire emblem and shin megami tensei had a great crossover. they just failed because the Wii U is slowly dying. not too many people are interested in the newer games.
I own colour splash, and in all honesty, it's much better than sticker star. with your logic it shouldn't fail if it is a good gamr |

Even GameXplain praised the game despite its flaws (and hating Sticker Star) and recommended it. You don't have to agree, but you can at least take their opinions into consideration since they actually played the damn game. It's like Star Fox Zero. Some don't like it because of the controls. I personally do and thought it was a solid game. It's unfortunate that it has low sales but alas it's the way it is. Then you got games like Tokyo Mirage Sessions, which has been positively received but still has low sales. Why aren't people playing that game? Because it's not what they want? Why is it that it has to be "do what we want or bust" kind of mentality? If it was like that, we wouldn't be showering love to games like the Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Wii sports, etc. There are probably a lot of factors on why Color Splash isn't doing well, but being received as a bad game isn't one of them when it was received favorably by those who played it. Maybe it'll be considered a great hidden gem one day like Captain Toad, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Mario and Sonic at Rio, FFV, and a few others on Wii U. |
Really guys? I think just one look at TMS should tell you why that game didn't sell lel. I almost didn't buy the game because of that, though it is thanks to hearing how good it was that I eventually picked it up. So yes quality isn't everything for a game's sales, but for Paper Mario, being a well known long established series that actually got advertising, it has to be a big factor since why else? You guys say it isn't a factor but don't give an alternative explanation. Wii U is dying sure, but if people really wanted the game, they'd buy it, but they don't and well the only reason I see and hear for that be quality. That's definitely the reason why I'm not buying it and I'm sure you'll get the same answer from most everyone else.
