I think people are also ignoring the big role smartphone games can and will play. We saw the effect Pokémon Go had on older Pokémon games and the 3DS itself. Thanks to smartphones Nintendo IPs can once again become mainstream. People playing the smartphone games might be tempted to try out the real deal on the Nintendo Switch. It will be a great new way for Nintendo to advertise their software and hardware. And we all know that was one of the biggest problems of Nintendo this generation.
