The Switch is advertised as a home console in the West and as a handheld in Japan. It's both. So it's fair to be compaired with both 3DS and WiiU.

What people compare though is the fate of the console. First of all we do not know much about the console, second they are different concepts and in different situations so the market and developers may have a completely different reaction to the console.
