Most Mario games have multiplayer, in fact the latest 3D Mario was heavily focused on the 4-player multiplayer.

I actually doubt the game won't have multiplayer.

No behind the shoulder 3rd person game. It would be the first split screen Mario.

 

Or it's just terrible advertising.
