Could Smash Bros skip the Nintendo Switch?

Well, all the games shown had weak announcements, at least 1st party wise. I mean, they showed a 3d Mario, and the girl took it with her to a rooftop party and split the the controllers and played two players. I doubt that Mario game is 2 players. So maybe that teaser is just bad at showing games.
