Spoiler alert, people posting in this very thread have justified lower prices based on specific component cost breakdowns. (You haven't) And did you miss the thread where some no-name Chinese assembler was shopping the same hybrid/detachable controller concept? I really don't get the benefit of bringing up Apple here, specifically calling their pricing "disgusting" and "ridiculous", |
You're pulling a lot of stuff out of your ass here. My entire point is that components alone are a worthless comparison. Was that really so hard to understand?
Apple get away with ridiculous, disgusting prices. Nintendo is soooooooooooooooo far away from that price model. What are you even saying? If Apple can safely get away with, lets say 100 dollars, for component X. Why does Nintendo have to go for 10 dollars, or else they're dumb, greedy and above all else: doomed? 400, as in this example, is nothing. I've never said they should go for 10k dollars or whatever.
"...yet can offer the power..." Does the PS4 have a tablet controller? They're different. There are more factors than power, and as we all know, power has NEVER guaranteed anything.
Apple succesfully convinced people that due to their high prices and kinda decent tech, they are exclusive, luxurious, fashonable and overall products that are very much sought for. Its genius, really. Also kinda crazy. The elitist hate towards Nintendo somehow pushed the idea that they're only allowed to go for budget prices. Its purely a mentality thing. There are ugly paintings worth millions of dollars, and beautiful paintings that cost less than a dime.
Btw, I think 400 is a lot of money. I'd probably wait, regardless. I just want things to be fair, and they most certainly aren't.
