I don't understand the people complaining about "months old" ports or claiming that was the Wii U's problem... The Wii U's had a wide array of problems, but the biggest one was the lack of interesting first party titles during its launch. We had Nintendo Land which did not prove nearly as popular as Wii Sports and New Super Mario Bros. Wii U which basically looked like a Wii game in HD. Hopefully the Switch will address that problem. Having The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild ready for launch is the first step, but they do need more.

The third party games I suggest would just be a bonus on top of the first party offerings. I can see most of these games selling relatively well like Monster Hunter XX HD, Dragon Quest Builders, Just Dance 2017, Persona 5 (marketing it as a mobile game could push for more sales in Japan), Sonic Mania, Yooka-Laylee and Dragonball Xenoverse 2. Dark Souls 3 likely wouldn't sell all that well, but Nintendo needs a wide variety of games to be able to market their console to a larger demographic. I'm unsure of how South Park: The Fractured But Whole would sell... Could go any way really. South Park is a very popular brand and I don't see why Nintendo fans would like South Park less than Sony or Microsoft fans.
