Performance during games is solid, only when you go back to ps menu with the game still running you'll get the occasional stutter. No problem with the quick menu, yet looking something up in the browser with the game still on in the background can cause the occasional hiccup.

One time during a long load in DC VR it got really slow, showing all kinds of weird warped tunnel effects when rotating my head. I thought the game had crashed, then it came back after 20 seconds.

During gameplay it's always solid, although since launch I've had a few times when the headset simply blacked out for a second while playing. Maybe a fail safe when the frame rate drops yet I've had actual frame rate drops in Rez Infinite where the game slowed down (only happened twice in getting the plat for the whole game). When that happened head tracking was still smooth, just the animations in game were running below 60fps.

Anyway with as much as I've been playing it, it has been the smoothest launch ever. Nothing has actually crashed and the 2 occasions of slowdown over 15 hours of playing Rez is not an issue.

Tip: If rotational tracking ever drifts (does sometimes in cockpit games where the 'straight' view no longer corresponds with sitting straight on your couch) simply turn the headset off and on to reset. Holding down the options button only resets your 3D position.

You can use reset view to lean out further than intended, lean all the way left in the play area, reset view, now you can reach further right. Or get a higher viewpoint by resetting while crouching. Useful with Allumette for example, download now (free) and prepare to be amazed :)
