I am not a collector of anything in the classic meaning of the word. While one could say that I collect videogames (Genesis/Megadrive era and later), I don't buy for the sake of owning, or for the sake of having a complete library of system X or system Y, I collect for the sake of playing and experiencing gaming evolution. I enjoy the occassional CE/LE as well, but I don't buy them as a rule either. An item such as this LP is a great thing for fans to get. Exactly what I would buy for some of my favorite soundtracks (e.g, FF IX , SMT Digital Devil Saga 2, some others). |
Cool. I think you represent many gamers in this regard, not being dedicated collectors but more like casual collectors. I too buy the occasional CE/LE.
Now you said that one could say that you collect videogames starting with Genesis/Megadrive. How many physical games (roughly) do you own for your, let's say top 3, most collected systems?
For me it's roughly 75 physical games for the PS3 (big mistake now in hindsight, since they are all stuffed in cardboard boxes), roughly 40 or 50 PC games, and some 30 or so ancient C64 games. Most of it is sadly stored in cardboard boxes in my storehouse and not displayed in my apartment on shelves and stuff.
