Its perfect for people who owned the Mega Drive/Genesis back in the day, but us who owned the SNES know that the SNES controller is way superior for Street Fighter 2

Ecept I've played it on both consoles, and didn't like using my left pointer to do heavy punch attacks.  Trying to do specials that was is even more difficult.  Which is why you'd use both of the right shoulder buttons.

Simple. Triggers+analog presses eliminated the need for two additional face buttons, and even so, many genres that could use a 6-button arrangement are now dying (e.g fighters).

Fighters are not dying, and we haven't had a 6 button controller since the saturn.  MKX did fine, Tekken 7 is doing great in arcades, Street Fighter 4 broke sale records, and DoA5 is doing alright, or else there wouldn't be $1,000 in DLC for that game.  But, only Street Fighter 4 & 5 are 6 button fighters

4 buttons is easier for most people. You have the thumb in the middle of all four and need to barely move it to get to any button. Another row of buttons would complicate things since you would then have to jump over button increasing the risk of pressing the wrong one, not to mention the comparably long ways.
With the addition of shoulder buttons, it made the need for more buttons obsolete anyway.

I haven't used a 6 button controller in years (8+) and never had that issue.
