It's not Pokémon. It's some new director's stupid idea of what Pokémon should be. I'm complaining because it sucks and it's not the franchise I grew in love with and was in love for 2 decades. Alola Forms are stupid. Ultra Beasts are stupid. Z-moves are stupid. Ash-Greninja is stupid. Handholding regarding the effectiveness of moves is stupid. That aside, a lot of the new Pokémon designs are beyond awful, as well as their names (some examples being Bewear, Incineroar, Bruxish, Palosand, Turtonator, Type: Null - all of these are either among the worst Pokémon designs or names ever, if not both); the soundtrack, or at least the bits that we've heard from it in the demo, is mostly ATROCIOUS; and not having gyms is not necessarily a positive change, because honestly they were part of what Pokémon had always been and they never felt repetitive to anyone as far as I know. That's the big problem with this game. It is NOTHING like any Pokémon game EVER before it, and that's not a compliment, because when it completely changes EVERYTHING you know and love about it, it gets weird, and not in a good way. Most Nintendo games strike a good balance of innovation/tradition that keeps things fresh while also classic to some point, but Sun and Moon get it completely wrong. Also, they already spoiled the entire game. Yay, I guess? |
Huh, so there is such a thing as a bad opinion.
