It is not the only way to watch UHD media. But it's the method with the best quality.

Netflix 4k bitrate is 15-18mbps, while UHDBR is 55+. That's quite a gap in quality. 

Betamax was also higher quality than VHS though. It doesn't matter what quality the product is if it isn't how the customer wants to consume the media.
