No they dont. They just show him playing on them separately.

Damn.. I just assumed because of how he was holding it reminded me of the Wiimote.

I remember seeing the axe swing in the trailer, and assumeing that was motion controlls.

Where does the rumor of its Motion controller funktion come from then?
