I guess it's still better to have a confirmed date, rather than sitting around for like 5 months waiting for an announcement :p

My guess would be they want to avoid the Pro right now. If that does well enough at launch, it might hog the limelight through the holidays.

It could also just be Nintendo being Nintendo though :p

 

Yep! Too much stuff happening before the new year. By January people may be spending less time on their new games
