I don't mind the asymmetric placement - but it works best when the bottom stick is also just a little to the left of the buttons too. Fewer cramps in the thumb going between the buttons and the joystick. Default Switch controller has the buttons and joystick directly above/below each other - rather than having a slight offset.

Yeah this is my main issue with the layout, but I can go from the circle pad to the d-pad well enough on the 3DS so maybe it'll be fine. Either way not too big a deal since the pro controller exist.
