It's still a fad as far as I'm concerned, until it can prove it's longevity with good games released over successive years.
Still, I think once porn applications and peripherals start rolling out the future of VR will be secure. Of course that puts PSVR at a distinct disadvantage because PS will never support porn applications, aside from Japan maybe.
