...What exactly are you arguing? He's saying that the Switch can be an outlier to that general direction because a trend is not a strict pattern, and you're also saying that a trend isn't a strict pattern, therefore implying that there can be outliers, before saying that the Switch will absolutely not be more successful than the 3DS because the general direction of handhelds, which both you and him agree is not a strict pattern and can have outliers because that's how trends do, is strictly declining. And also Nintendo consoles losing their importance in the market and PS winning a generations are trends as well, which aren't strict patterns and can totally have outliers as long as they aren't the Switch because it is uniquely beholdent to those not at all strict patterns. Also, what's stopping the Switch from reversing those trends or starting new ones entirely?
