Actually they put too much effort into it.
They should have stick with the original engine, add graphical upgrades taken from Arkham Knight, and just bump up the resolution to 1080p with a 30fps cap.
Instead they tried to remake them with UE4, the workload and development budget was of course, a lot bigger. And it was damn near impossible to try to match exactly the art of the originals with a different engine.
Sio we ended up with a crappy remake/remaster, the use of UE4 was the worst decision here, it tanked the project from the start.
