Id imagine two mini controllers will be useful when playing the occasional four player mariokart and needing some extra controllers. We also don't know if it has any wii mote functionality in one of them as rumoured.
I'm a little interested in the idea of switchable controller options but Id imagine the switch will have to be successful before we see that. However, I think my most desired custom feature would be a d pad.
As a wii u owned I do get the feeling that the switch doesn't really offer me much new. It looks slicker and has a focus on off tv play, which was the wii u's best feature and it bugged me when it wasn't fully supported.
The big letdown for me with the wii u was the gamepad's battery life and range. I can't have the wii u in my living room and play the gamepad in my bedroom. If they just released a better (and perhaps prettier) gamepad that fixed these issues, and made a policy of always supporting full off tv play, and carried on with the wii u then I would probably be just as happy.
Of course as the wii u bombed that couldn't happen.
