BTW, I think he could review MK Wii, if Nintendo decides they like his reviews, and tells him he can do what he likes to it. How could Yahtzee turn down ripping a game a new one, if it's developer approved?

I don't think that Nintendo giving Yahtzee an approval would change one damn thing (Would it have changed anything if they had given him green lights to review SSBB? I don't think so). I don't think he wants to review MK Wii at all, probably because he just doesn't like it.

"... Because it has to be inevitably compared to Mario Sunshine, the last "proper" Mario game, disregarding all that spin-off bullshit" - Yahtzee, SMG review

It probably has something to do with it being primarily compared to SSBB, with the focus on multiplayer, and not having a real single player campaign.

Personally, I don't care much for MK Wii, and I just hope he stands by his decision of not giving into the fans.

I don't think you read my comment. Look at the bolded parts.

I still don't understandwhat you are trying to say if my interpretation wasn't right. But since it seems to be a misunderstanding, let's just put it to rest, shall we? :)

Or I could clarify. Let's say, however unlikely, that Nintendo themselves asks Yehtzee to review the game, and tells him they don't care if the review isn't positive. That would mean Yahtzee would have carte blanche to say what he wants, and he could even use the request as a way to tell the fanboys they can go to hell.

Again, it's unlikely, but I think Yahtzee coulnd't resist ripping into a game, with the ripping being at the approval of the game's developer.

Does that make it clear?

Okay, now I get it.

But I don't think that Nintendo 'approving' of his reviews would change anything. As far as I can tell, Yahtzee is already saying exactly what he wants, and using the 'approval' against the fanboys, wouldn't seem to be his style. I think he'd much rather kick the asses of the hatemail-sending fanboys himself (as he did with SSBB), then shield himself behind Nintendo.
