The Wii U had similar bursts of optimism after reveal too, lets remember that. Obviously not everyone was impressed, your stock price doesn't go down by 7% after product unveil if shareholders are wowwed and there are some people who weren't happy with the unveil, so yes I would say that's a "mixed" response. Sure it's probably more on the positive side, but this is not like the Wii or N64 unveils either, lets be clear on that. |
They are the same investors that invested in Nintendo thinking they were the ones responsible for Pokemon GO(and the ones ripping all the profits).Investors are not the most informed bunch of people, specially if it regards to videogames.
Now, is Switch the most hyped console of all time?Of course not.I wasnt as invested in gaming as I am now until somewhere in the 6th generation, so I wouldnt be able to say.But for ehat this trailer tried to achieve, I think it did a great job.I mean, if people are this agressive trying to bash Nintendo or trying to defend it, it means tgat the trailer did its job, of that putting the Switch on the spotlight. Now, to consolidade its hold and to make people buy the system, well this is the job of the full reveal direct/conference.
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
