perhaps youre right and just using half the controller is difficult for many games or dumbs down the controls, thats why having options is great.
you can play with the half controllers, or put them together or use the Pro controller.
many games will work absolutely fine with just the small half controllers and the games where it doesnt work fine can just require you to use them together.
its a non issue because its not a mandatory feature.

We get it. You think the switch is perfect, and every feature is the best possible way this system could be made.
We actually don't know if there's any way to do local multiplayer without using the two seperate mini controllers. That might be the only option for all we know. You're assuming you can use more than one pro controller, but remember, this is Nintendo. They have made a whole pile of completely non-sensical decisions in the past five years. I wouldn't put anything past them.
Also, it's absolutely hilarious how for every issue someone brings up there's someone stepping in and acting as if it's a non-issue. Useless mini controller? "Nah, it'll work fine, it's an option anyways, duh!" 3 Hour battery life? "The 3DS only has a 3 hour battery life and that sold great!". But all it reminds me is how skewed some people's perspective actually is.. Sure it'll probably work fine with mario, or mario kart. But games have gotten more advanced since them. I guarantee you NBA 2K16 is much more difficult to play with the tiny pads. That's a problem for someone like me who actually plays sports games regularly.
Just remember, you don't get to decide what's a non-issue and what is an issue for me. Just because it's not an issue for you, doesn't mean it can't be a legitimate issue for someone else.

no need to be so condescending, nothing i have said implies that i think Switch is an almighty infallible device.
youre right we have no way of knowing, so why are you complaining about something that you have no idea will or will not exist? nice double standard buddy.
Nintendo has been far more open than Sony/Microsoft about offering multiple control schemes so i have no idea why you are so worried about being forced to play with only one Joy-Con.
