Would you prefer 3DS to get its own successor instead of switch being its successor? advantages and disvantages? Do you like XDS fan concept?

I would want to have a handheld that I can put in a cradle that connects to my TV so I can play low-res fun games both on my couch and on the run. 3DS have had better games than Wii U and most other consoles, maybe thanks to low-res ease of development.
