Switch is cutting edge for a portable, it basically is what a Vita 2 would be, Sony doesn't have some magical tech (the Vita was basically just the same chip from the third iPad for instance, it's not a Sony chip). A Pascal based Nvidia Tegra which Nintendo is using is about as good as you're going to get.
For the health of the industry I think it's better that Sony and MS just stay out. The portable sector is fragile enough as is due to the impact of mobile gaming, it's better just to have one healthy platform, there isn't room for multiple versions of this device without fracturing and flooding the market IMO.
