Of course it will be more powerful when docked as there are two restraining factors on EACH device: electric power consumption and heat. When on power line Switch is only limited by how fast the chips heat can be exchanged into air. So I would expect the dock to include an extra fan... . As Switch is using an integrated CPU/GPU chip I wouldn't be surprised if the RAM is also on the same chip – this is the reason why smartphones have those incredible graphics power and next gen HMB PC GPUs will leapfrog the older generations.
I'm really hyped for Switch – the only thing I would like to know if the WiiMote+/Nunchuck can also be used and how Splatoon will play without having a second screen...
