Did you seriously link to GameTrailers asking a Microsoft Vice President about the future of Sony?  They didn't even really discuss it beyond a throwaway question that barely got answered.  Thanks for wasting seven and a half minutes of my busy morning.

Most are in spec, but spec is the bottom of the barrel. None of the bells and whistles. I agree 256 mb of RAM is difficult to overcome. But spending time to optimize on a closed box is absolutely not a disadvantage. In fact quite the opposite. Being able to optimize to a closed spec is a fantastic benefit.

Closed platforms are a definite advantage, but so are more powerful platforms -- although "limited number of types" is, while true, perhaps underestimating the amount of hardware and software PC developers have to keep in mind.

So you can spend $150 dollars on a graphics card and get HD GoW graphics? What about RAM? What about CPU? What about HD speed? What about lots of stuff? LOL! LOL! LOL!

I don't think there's any need to be insulting.  I agree that if he meant a graphics card then he is overlooking the rest, and if he meant a computer he is being FAR too optimistic.

Duh, and we would save money, or developers would make more money. Cutting out the middle man is never a bad idea. Not sure why you think the Wii would get one before anyone else. Doesn't make much sense. In fact none of the consoles will ever get one.

Cutting out the middle man is a bad idea when he is the one you rely on to get your product into the hands of customers.
