You need to know that companies, and that include Rockstar and Take-two, dosent care about the companies past or its relationship with them. They care about sales potential.if they think they can sell games there, even if only it is 10% of total sales across all platforms, and make a profit out of it, they will make a game for the system. And since we know nothing about the NX, the system is like schrödigers cat, it could be the next Wii or the next Wii U.

And in regard to the NX hype, really?Only nintendo fans are hyped? So the E3 line for Breath of the Wild, which is comming to NX, was made just of Nintendo fans?Or the internet post E3 talk that Nintendo dominated(there was some data companie that release data about twitter porcentage of topics related to E3 or something of the like), was just nintendo fans hyped?Or the countless rumours circulating, that all forums ends up talking about. Are them all only made up of Nintendo fans? Please.

just as Nintendo lost third party support starting with the n64(generally speaking), it could happen to gain them back, assuming Nintendo do the right decisions with the NX.

you're making the mistake of confusing the internet meme's machine with real world scenarios. of course in gaming circles talk about an unknown console will generate discussion, especially when the company that's going to release said console is hell bent in keeping it as secretive as possible. that will bring a good portion of people to become excited with the prospects, but also a huge part of the gaming population in it for the lulz.

the fact that with the exception of the wii phenomena (for specific reasons) every single Nintendo home console has sold worse than its predecessor should be a huge red flag to speak of the relevance of the company in that space.

the big kicker this time is that for some reason people believe they will pay for 1 console, but get both a handheld + a console playing the same game. that as an abstract concept is quite fascinating, and probably the main reason why some people feel so hyped about it. when reality inevitably arrives we will have plenty of backpedaling and a reset of expectations.

on your first point of R* not caring about past relations, it's not so much about the inter-company relations they would care, but where their audience is. you wouldn't be announcing the next Gears of War in an anime convention, much like you wouldn't be revealing the new RDR in a Nintendo direct.

Companies will 'pander' to their audience, and again, R* audience is the opposite from the Nintendo audience.

Comparing Nintendo to an anime convention?LOL.Please, you are smarter than this.

and the fact that there is no talk about the NX is because it wasnt revealed yet.I would guess its the same scenario for PS4 and XOne.The only ones speculating about them before their reveal were gaming enthusiast(us).Of course the general public wouldnt talk about a product they dont know about.Plus, the one that has bigger market reach and be known by casuals is Nintendo, lets not fool ourselves.Pokemon Go and most likely Mario Run is there to prove it.Even if you talked about Nintendo in an anime convention people are bound to know about its profucts.Same cant be said to most companies.

And you are missing the point. If there is sales potential no matter the platform, companies will make games for it.If Ouya was successful and could run GTA V, you WOULD see the game there. The same can be said to nintendo.Thats why its called sales potential. It dosent matter if you dont have fans in that system. If your game is good, the platform has a good install base, and you market it, its going to sell. And I mean, Companies research these kind of things. They dont just " oh its Nintendo, fuck them".They are a business.Plus Nintendo had their share of "mature" games on its system that sold well, so again, please try harder.

But you seem adamant on your point, so lets just agree to disagree.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
