The main reason I feel it's close is that while Gears runs at a higher framerate and resolution, I find Ryse's character models and lighting more impressive.

A lot of Gears 4 seems to take place at night, and I really, really don't like the way they've done the moonlight, it looks really bland, washed out and unappealing to me.

In the game's unveiling at E3 2015, the night-time lighting was way more atmospheric and rich, I wish they'd kept it that way for the final game.
