I have cousins in Europe and every time I visit they need to show me the latest and greatest cell phones they have. Sure...their stomach may be empty, but they got a 4 megapixel camera on their cell phone.
I think the appeal of the ps3 can be related to that. Cause PS3 is like 360...only...bigger...and blacker...and supposedly more powerful. Very good for bragging when neighbor comes over...
Actually I'm full of shit...they have stronger brand loyalty I think.
