They have a monopoly on that dedicated handheld market so even as it erodes, it gaurntees them more sales then what we're seeing with Microsoft and the Xbox One. Sony has an undeniably dominant grip on the console market, Nintendo will not put their financial success of the next 5 years in the hand of traditional console versus a handheld. They're simply not at a point where they can pretend that their handheld isn't the sole reason they've been relevant the last few years.
