Keep in mind that all of the above successors had BC which made their predecessors obsolete and useless, NX doesn't seem that it will have BC with 3ds!

Nintendo abandoned wii u to focus on 3ds...
What about Pokemon go, Pokemon sun and moon and New 3ds xl/2ds bundles? What about the 80$ costing 2ds ( since may ) with MK7 which just had a color sheme swap in NA and recently was released in Japan where it perfoms well? What about all the new games that were showed in the september direct ( like Super mario maker, which releases in December ) ? What about super mario run possibly repeating the wonders of pokemon go ? I know in spite of these, it could not do well due to NX being close, but all these makes me to anticipate a relatively great last holidays sales!
New 3ds xl hasn't received any price drop yet, it's rumored that it's going to have one big this fall...
By the way, what's your prediciton?
Personally, I'm foreseeing 70m! i think that the contigency to fall short of 70m isn't small though, howbeit not for a big margin, ergo 69m.
