They simply cant afford to repeat Wii U's mistakes of releasing an under powered console that cant run third party games. It has to be PS4 level or bust imo

If they want Japanese third party support it's by far better to make a handheld/hybrid. And for a handheld it's pretty much as powerful as it can be (if the rumours are true) without being too expensive, have low battery life or being unprofitable.

What western third party games do they need? Stuff like Call of Duty and Fifa always sold like shit on Nintendo hardware.
