The problem isn't with the refund it offers, it's with how unflexible they are and inconsiderate to individual circumstances.
I rang 10hrs of from their 14 day policy and didn't get a refund. Instead I was sent around a huge circle with promises of call backs and told a bunch of crap.
In the end I had to go through citizens advise and trading dtandards who said to check if Sony are part of a dispute resolution scheme. I asked them and their response was since it is a legal matter as far as they are concerned they won't tell me and it's my job to find out. According to the law, what they said was breaking the law.
Sony are incapable of showing human intelligence when anything falls out of their policy or procedure. They literally fall apart and don't take anything you say into consideration nor the treatment of being passed around by their team.
I suppose it's not so much about their refund policy as much as it is about their customer service overall.
