Sure, if we didn't do the same for PCs. But it doesn't work that way. The system can't, and wouldn't, exist in a vacuum.

I don't think we're on the same page. 

 

Consoles will not be as powerful as PCs. Not unless Sony starts making its own GPUs to give itself a price cut. I'm saying that PCs right now won't stack up to PlayStation ten years from now, and that it is very likely that the new Titan X wouldn't stand up to it.
