Hmmm I don't particularly see it as a big stretch to gather he 'could' mean it is a hybrid. It certainly implies that Nintendo are attempting to either bridge the two or implement elements of the two concepts into one...

implies and confirming are two different things though,thats the point. He never confirmed a hybrid 

Is there a patent file date for Nintendo? They wouldn't be granted the patent if they were already ripping someone else off right?
