Mate, you're clearly someone to whom crime has never been a problem. Probably grew up in a first world country. Crime is roaring due to crime apologists - the ones who refuse to punish criminals. These are facts.

So if that's the case, exactly how low is your bar for the death penalty?  All this guy is saying is that he doesn't think people should be killed for stealing or attempting to steal.  Are you instead advocating the death penalty for burglary?

I don't see "you shouldn't kill every criminal" as "refusing to punish them"
