If the system is going to be native 4k on games it won't be a price that will invoke a sale I think, unless MS takes a fairly big loss on the system and I don't think that would be MS's game again, One thing that is strange where they have decided to take the first steps in revealing their "generationless" consoles is that they did it... in a generation they were so far behind their competition, I mean it isn't on Wii-U levels of being outsold but at the same time they hold just 28.2% of the console sales in the 8th generation down from 32% in the generation which featured the Wii!
I think they would do better (or far worse from a PR point of view) to look at something like a full blown sequel to Minecraft exclusively to the X1 (for a period) or else try to shell out big bucks and secure GTA6 for the first year of launch. I'm not sure but from the popularity of various things like Digital Foundry I think it's clear that those who care about every single frame rate dip are sadly the minority when it comes to buying a platform of choice and the reality is people are more drawn to where their online buddies are holed up at right now, by the time the Scorpio comes out it is only going to be 12 months worse for how likely it is that mates will be using a Sony console for their Call of Duty and Fifa games I think.
TL:DR - It wont be a 4k machine if it is going to sell imo.
