If it is "far below base ps4" and not providing 3rd party devs with what they would want then it will fail as a home console, simple as that. How many times does history have to repeat itself for other Nintendo fans to realize that making up to date hardware and appealing to 3rd parties matter? True "the games are what matter" but having inferior hardware can push away majority of the good games makers (3rd parties). That is why people keep repeating what Rich says in that video. And the argument about "ps2 and wii were the weakest but sold the best" is not seeing the whole picture. Nes, snes, ps1, ps2, and ps4 (all home console best sellers minus the wii which was a fluke imo) were all the strongest console on the market when they released and Advanced graphics and tech were always a big selling point for them. None of them were considered "underpowered" in the slightest, in fact they would be the best on the market for at least a year then naturally the competition tried to outdo them tech wise. There is simply no denying that capable hardware matters in a consoles success as well as getting 3rd party support
But as a handheld on the otherhand? The Nx seems to be a much larger jump tech wise than any of the previous Nintendo handhelds made over their predecessors. Not that it matters, handhelds follow a whole different set of rules than what home consoles do. Nx can be a decent to well selling handheld but it simply can't regain many home console fans without having decent 3rd party support. So in the end it could sell pretty well even without 3rd part support since it is a hybrid. Btw I mean 8th gen multiplats when I mention 3rd party support
