I think white people coming first and evolving to have black skin in hot climates makes more sense (does white skin even have any advantages for cold climates?) but then wouldn`t explain the differences between white europeans and white asians.

I meant facial differences 

A really old explanation I've heard is that their eyes look smaller because the eyelids evolved as a protection aganst wind and snow. So perhaps the pre-Asian populations wondered north at first, evolved the eyelids, and then later some of them migrated southward in East Asia.
