The idea of not being racist is superior to the idea of being racist in my view.  The "average" person (or vast majoirty of people) I've met is not racist, they have far more to concern themselves about than getting caught up on such things.

I have discussed the matter and find the arguments in favor of racism to be wanting.  I also find the concept lately of "all white people are racist" to be counter to discussion and minimizing how real the issue has been and can be.
