People tend to misunderstan the scenario for consoles in China before the ban was lifted. Consoles ALWAYS were sold in mainland China, and China is pretty much a PS territory (for consoles anyway), and PS brand was already pretty strong there. When the ban was lifted XB1 was the first to be available officially, but this doesn't mean much, even sales wise, the grey market still much bigger than the official one. 

I know that 20 years ago they had some Mega Drive and NES clones at least. Because they were the ones who manufacture them
