Ok ill try. 1. As a regular PS4 owner your game runs between 20-30fps, your PS4Pro friends version will run solid 30 or more FPS = yours is gimped. 2. As a regular PS4 owner you no longer have the best console looking console exclusive or performing games = yours is gimped. 3. As a regular PS4 owner you have no way to know if your game is running sub 30 fps thanks to less optimizing (Thanks to ps4pro) or if thats how it would of been. Ether way PS4Pro version is smoother so yours = gimped. 4. Your PS4 wont play "The exact" same game since it wont look or perform anywhere as good, something the article in the OP really hits home = your version is gimped. Now clearly this wont be a problem for everyone. But you can bet your ass it will also be a problem for many leading many to feel like they have to upgrade. |
So let me get this straight basically you are saying I have been playing gimped versions of games since I got my PS4. Well then if the games I have been playing are "gimped" then I am fine with that because they run great, look great and play great so I guess it won't be an issue for me. Heck Id on't think it will be an issue for many to be honest. If that was the case everyone would have a PC because it runs the best version of all the games.
Gimped in my opinion is something with a lot of bugs that is almost unplayable. But just because one is a locked 30fps and mine dips between 20-30 that doesn't make it gimped. Heck most people wouldn't even notice that. And I think we sometimes mix our gaming forums with the real world....many won't care because they don't know anything about the 30fps etc. they just know they have a new game that looks great and plays great.
But as BasilZero said we will see in a few months what the real outcome is and how the games compare. Good points though man!
