Thats just it.... the hardware inside apple usually isnt all that impressive, compaired to what they charge for it.

What your paying for is the "brand" & "status symbol" and maybe your own preferance of the software OS.

If you buy their products you know your getting f***'ed price wise, you do it anyways.

I think we're in agreement, perceived value is the value a product is afforded through marketing, "it" factor and overall popularity. Then there's actual value and market value. The actual value of an iPhone is far below both the market value and perceived value.

Like you said; the hardware is nothing special, the same goes for Mac, they sport underclocked Intel processors and ditto graphics cards, medicore RAM, decent disc drives and great displays. Name and brand are amon the chief factors in perceived value, Apple have somehow managed to make a lot of people think that their goods are the shit. God job Apple, poor job consumers who enable the most ludicrous profit margins in the industry.
