Conservatives in the 80s/90s to "developing countries": Join us! Capitalism is great, don't you dare choose communism! We'll overthrow your government if they do! McDonalds and Coca-Cola is what you want! We're going to spread this everywhere in the world! Tear down these walls, freedom means no walls!"
Conservatives now: "Oh you want your cut of this free market? Wow, there's quite a few of you. And you're making better products than for cheaper! Globalism isn't fun when the odds are not stacked in our favor! Damn you! We need to build a wall!!"
