PC Infinite compatibility, you can play every game from every generation without the "bc issue" Free online, it's free, it's good. Emulators, if you own the game, go and download an emulator and now you can play your favorite ps2, gamecube, wii, dreamcast, gameboy, ds, neogeo etc etc games with better performance and visuals. Let's not forget that many emulators don't work properly all the way, even as far back as N64 (Case in point, Ogre Battle 64) Steam controllers, you can use every controller ever created and mouse and keyboards Until the PS dongle comes out, DS4 is hampered by Windows, and DS3 lacks drivers altogether. This makes it difficult (not impossible) to play with these controllers. Interface variety, nothing better than mouse and keyboard, but also big picture mode if you want the console experience customization, duh it's a pc. excluding some atrocious ports, you are going to play the ultimate edition of every game, depending on your hardware of course. MODS, also open platform means more developers and more games including shitty and great games. cheap and even free games on a regular basis, today ubisoft gave me The Crew for free, it's not like I wanna play it but hey, it's free.
consoles third party and first party exclusives, this is the main reason forget the drivers and the requirements, just play the game The hype before an announcement (can't wait for the NX) craziness and gimmicks, some people hate this, I love them physical games
that's it for me, wanna add something else

For PCs:
Piracy is much more attainable wait ignore that
Much better multitasking
User patches (could be filed under mods, but more specifically fixing problems developers won't. Case in point: the fix for Dark Souls)
For Consoles:
Comfortable couch play
Seamless experience
Superior performance for the dollar
A thriving trade-in market
